In January there was a rise in UK house prices for the first time since October 2010, with an increase of 1.3% compared to the previous year according to Halifax.
This year has seen the largest drop in house prices in nearly four years, as there are twice as many sellers as there are buyers. This has lead to a fall in the amount of approved residential mortgage applications.
